A message to new parents from our Cradle Roll Administrator...
St. Paul Lutheran Church rejoices with you over God's gift of a child. We are sure he/she will be the source of many blessings in your home. Also, you have undoubtedly been thinking of the great responsibility of raising one of His lambs. The Lord has given parents the directive to "...bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord" (Ephesians 6:46). Indeed, the parents will always have the primary responsibility for the Christian Education of their child. However, St. Paul Lutheran Church can provide valuable assistance to you. Our congregation has a Sunday school program. When your child reaches the age of three, he/she will be eligible for enrollment. This program of weekly instruction will supplement and enhance the training which you give at home. We will remind you of this opportunity as your child nears the age of three. St. Paul also maintains a Christian school. We have a program for pre-kindergarten to eighth grade. We feel this is the most effective agency for assisting you. Your child will be eligible for enrollment in the pre-kindergarten when he/she has reached the age of three or four by September 1st of that year. We will alert you as the time draws near. Our congregation also feels Christian education at the secondary level is important. Therefore, we are a member of the Martin Luther High School Association. Our congregation is blessed by the Concordia University system of LCMS. Young adults can continue their college in this Christian setting. This may seem a long time away for your child, but the years pass quickly. Again, we praise God for His precious gift to you. We pledge to be of assistance to you as your carry out Deuteronomy 6:6-7 -- "And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children." Please contact one of our pastors to let them know of a birth of a child, and/or to schedule a baptism. Once you have the date and time scheduled with a pastor, contact the church office with the information on the Baptism Checklist (below) so certificates and records can be prepared in advance. Thank you!
