2017 Martin County Fairstand Report
This year’s Martin County Fair was a wet and muddy event from Wednesday through Saturday. Total receipts for the fairstand totaled $20,639.92, with our profit of $10,618.05 which was down approximately $1,350.00 from 2016 which ended up to be an excellent year. The Fairstand Committee donated $6,350.00 of our profits this year to the following recipients: $350—Frosted Glass Erase Board $300—Utilities $1,000—Organ Console Fund $500—St. Paul Lutheran School $700—Youth Group $2,500—Hurricane Relief (Matching Money) $500—Lutheran Church Charities (Comfort Dogs) $500—Crest There are some things we have to request from our church members to prayerfully consider. First, we need a shift leader for the Thursday 11:00 to 4:00 shift. This shift has established workers and is not an extremely busy shift which for a starter is good and you will receive training for the first year. The other is to consider working at the fairstand next year and in future years; we need additional workers to give relief to your other church members who are working 3-4 total shifts, and also these members are also making pies and preparing turkey, etc. If anyone has questions, call 238-2190. Thanks to ALL that worked to make our 68th year at the Martin County Fair a success; and help us to make it better in our 69th year! See you August 13th-19th, 2018! Your Fairstand Committee |
A Blast from the Past...Thank you to Arlene Schulz for sharing LaVerne's pictures with the church office. The captions are the same as what was written on the backs of the pictures. Some things have changed over the years, but St. Paul's Fairstand continues its tradition of great food and fellowship at the Martin County Fair!
