On November 3-4, 2018 St. Paul Lutheran Church held a Mission Festival Sunday. Rev. Kevin Robson, Chief Mission Officer of The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod preached at each of the services and presented information during the Sunday Morning Sunday School session on the impact that our $240,000 gift from the Blom Estate (10% of the total value at the time of reception) will have on LCMS Missions.

Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Blom were married for 71 years. They died only two days apart in May of 2016. Bennie (1920-2016) was a WW II veteran who served our country in both the north and south Pacific areas of the war effort. Alice (1925-2016) was confirmed here at St. Paul Lutheran Church in 1940. The couple was married in 1945. After he returned from the war in January of 1946, the couple resided on their farm in Lake Belt Township where they lived until retiring to Welcome in 1994. The Bloms were faithful members of this congregation. Bennie was a volunteer worker during the construction of our church, and Alice helped serve funeral lunches as a younger woman. They typically attended the 10:30 a.m. service. They left their entire estate to our congregation. Blessed be the memory of Bennie and Alice Blom.
